Thilo Bauer
Owner & Technical Support
Thilo is a mechanical engineer with a vast field experience in servicing, maintenance and installations of packaging machines in the food, beverage & medical industry. Throughout his worldwide travels as a service engineer in different plants he has gained an extensive knowledge on various aspects of the industry and its tooling. He is a passionate craftsman, processing various materials including wood and metal.
Through this experience Thilo has gained a thorough understanding of most cutting-edge tools, which provides him with a distinct advantage and flexibility in the sharpening industry and his client’s requirements. Additionally, Thilo is focused on perfection and precision which ensure that all work pieces are diligently taken care of before being returned to the client.
Cornelia Bauer
Administration & Client Services
Coming from the Emergency Medical Field Cornelia is a qualified Paramedic who is passionate about working with people. In 2021 she decided to quit her job as a Lecturer at the Namibian University of Science and Technology to join forces with her husband Thilo at Trossbach Sharpening Services.
Cornelia’s function is to support Thilo in the client services and administration section of our Company, making Trossbach Sharpening Services a family run business. Cornelia’s personal touch and friendly way will make you feel welcome anytime. She also efficiently handles all administrative processes to ensure that you receive your goods and accompanying documentation in a timely matter.
OUR HISTORY 1979 TO 2023
Establishment
- Trossbach Sharpening Services was established by its founder Wolfgang Trossbach.
- Started in a small workshop in Nasmith Street, Southern Industrial Area.
- Sharpening of knives was the inital service provided.
- Services were gradually expanded with the requirements of clients to include sharpening of circular saw blades, guillotines, plannerblades, mincer-disks and knives amongst others.
Transition
- Thomas Wiedemann took over Trossbach Sharpening Services when Wolfgang Trossbach retired.
- Mr Wiedemann had returned from Germany where he trained and gained experience as a tool maker.
- Further expansion of the services provided to include sharpening of High Speed Steel sawblades, routerbits and bowlcuttersets, for example.
Relocation
- With a growing demand in services the premises in Nasmith Street became to small.
- Trossbach Sharpening Services thus moved to the current premises in Edison Street, Southern Industrial.
Third Generation Ownership
- Thilo Bauer took over Trossbach Sharpening Services with the retirement of Thomas Wiedemann.
- Expansion and upgrading started with aquisition of more modern machinery to improve eficiency and increased capacity.
Expansion
- Thilo's wife Cornelia joins Trossbach Sharpening Services in July to assist in an administrative function.
Addition to portfolio
- Acquisitions of Partnership with FREUND Slaughter Tools, to support our local meat producers with quality equipment and machinery.
